Rebecca is passionate about the power of a well-crafted story to inspire, transform, and challenge.

She writes short fiction and novels with a dash of magic. Her stories investigate the overlapping of narrative, imagination, and theology, drawing upon fairy tales, mythology, and folklore for inspiration. She teaches Creative Writing at the University of Central Florida. Rebecca created the Write 100 Challenge, a program that encourages and equips writers of all ages and stages with the community, accountability, and resources to reach their writing goals. As a founding member of Working Title: A Literary Arts Podcast, Rebecca loves connecting with fellow writers and readers.

From the horse farms of Kentucky to the cornfields of Iowa and the suburbs of Chicago, the variety of places she has called home add flavor to her storytelling. Rebecca now resides in the Orlando area, having traded the snowstorms of the north for sunshine, alligators, and Disney World.

When she’s not reading or writing, she’s probably cheering madly for her favorite college football teams, experimenting with new recipes in the kitchen, or dreaming of travel to new places. Rebecca loves Italian restaurants, British accents, war movies, cheese, and the Oxford comma.
